MAKING A DIFFERENCE

We use movement and dance as a tool for collaboration, education and social change. 

Company artists are currently delivering the following work;

  •  Education and TrainingWe're working with schools, universities, arts and community organisations nationally and internationally. Current and recent partners include Edge Hill University, University of Central Lancashire, Yorkshire Dance, Ludus Dance, Lisa Simpson Inclusive Dance, IndepenDance, Accrington Academy and Dance Touring Partnership.                                                         

  • Dance for Parkinson's: As regional Dance Artist for English National Ballet, Helen delivers ENB's Dance for Parkinson's programme in partnership with Merseyside Dance Initiative and frequently delivers ENB Schools Link programmes

  • Disability Arts and Education: We' re inclusive in our choreography and performance  practice. Throughout 2014-2015 we've been working on two European commissions and regional dance initiatives involving disabled and non-disabled artists.

  • Dance as Therapeutic Intervention: We're working in health care settings, researching the positive effects dance, movement and music have on psychological and physical wellbeing.

  • Somatic Research and Practice.  We apply a broad range of psychosomatic practices that enable artists to further develop their practice and understanding of their environment. George has recently returned from 'Sparks' in Budapest, a European commission for cross-cultural  research and exchange about  self-directed learning in the specific frame of special needs.

  • Children and Young People: We believe that access to the arts should begin at the very early stages of life. We understand that through play and movement young people learn and develop. LMP artists have worked extensively with  organisations involved in teaching, psychology and therapy in order to develop an effective and holistic pedagogy.


Dance for Older Adults: We actively promote the benefits of dance throughout life as a means of self-expression, supporting positive health and well-being. We deliver regular activity for older adults and training for students and artists.
